Home Bible Study

"Yes, I am coming quickly." Amen.
Revelation 22:20

This is a Home Bible study. It exists to promote the Word of God as it's written, which means nothing added or taken away, and minus opinions.

The Bible is the only source of Divine Truth in the world today. Although it is helpful and informative in many ways, the Bible might not tell us everything we want to know but the Bible does tell us everything we need to know.

My role is to guide you through the Scriptures; to explain what this book says and in some cases what it does not say because this is just as important.

Ultimately, you have a decision to make concerning your salvation - no one can make it for you. The Lord Jesus Christ, the Creator God, has given everyone the ability to make choices - this is is called "Free Will." I pray you consider your choice wisely.

II Timothy 2:15

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.

The Changing Times

Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth
(II Timothy 2:15)

Revelation 9;10

The Changing Times

For those of you who are following along with our Home Bible Study via the Internet, we are currently studying the beginning of the last half of the tribulation period known as the Great Tribulation.

Matthew 24

21: “For then (“then” is a time related word) there will be a (what) great tribulation, such has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will…”

In order to understand the book of Revelation you have to follow the events taking place chronologically.  Reading the book chapter by chapter will not get the job done.

We began this particular Bible study by going over the events taking place at the onset of this seven year period.  Then we studied those events occurring at the midpoint of the tribulation; and now we are at the beginning of that final 3 ½ period known as the Great Tribulation.

Presently we are in Revelation chapter 9 reviewing the Trumpet Judgments.

In my last post, I commented on the “worldly view” put forth by the National Geographic Channel on their coverage of the Seven Seal Judgments a few weeks ago.  The narrator mixed some Bible truth along with his opinion in this particular program.  It was a missed opportunity, from my perspective, to speak the truth to those who are interested in these events.  After all, that’s why I opted to watch their program.

I’m not slamming the National Geographic Channel.  Please know this.
I watch their programming from time to time and I usually find it practical.

In contrast, there is a source of information available to those who are interested in knowing about these same events that the NGC failed to deliver on.
It’s called the Bible.   The author is the Lord Jesus Christ.

Since He is the Spirit of Truth, why search anyplace else?
There are many reasons?  We’ve explored a few of these reasons in this series.
One reason is this.  People don’t understand the Bible, so they leave it alone.

A guide would be a good idea; someone to walk with you on your journey.

While I was serving my country in the USN, I had the opportunity to visit Rome, Italy.
I was a Roman Catholic at that time and I talked a few of my buddies into going with me to tour one of the catacombs nearby.  There are over forty of them. We went on a tour and the guide took us down into the dark depths of the catacomb.  He was knowledgeable about its Christian history and answered our questions.  Without him, we’d of been LOST…literally.  There are more than 373 miles of twisting, turning catacombs beneath the ground outside the city of Rome.
Get the idea?  Sometimes you need a guide.

But I’d want my guide to be knowledgeable and above all trustworthy.

That should whittle the pack down quite a bit.  Why?
It’s been my experience that most folks have an alternative agenda.
Seldom is my best interest the heart of the issue.

It’s rare to find an individual who is not motivated by money these days or power.
When you eliminate those two factors, what’s left is service.
By definition; service is a helpful action done to help somebody or as a favor to somebody.

An act of Service is a gift.  There are no “strings” attached to a gift.  A gift is free.
Once you attach a stipulation to a gift, it then becomes a transaction.

If you are interesting in knowing about what the Word of God says about the tribulation period events and other events as well, I’m willing to assist you in your understanding of Scripture.  In fact that’s what this blog is dedicated to.
No strings attached.  Of course you are required to open the book and study along.

After all, it’s not about what I say or think; is it?
It is ALL ABOUT what the Word of God says.  I’m just here to help you find it.
The rest is up to you and may God the Spirit open your heart to receive the Truth!

Acts 16

14: A woman named Lydia, from the city of Thyatira, a seller of purple fabrics, a worshipper of God, (Now read your Bible carefully – she worshiped God and not the Lord Jesus Christ.
There is a difference people and the DIFFERENCE makes all the DIFFERENCE in this AGE of GRACE) was listening (to the apostle Paul teaching to those nearby about salvation based upon faith alone in the death, burial, and resurrection of the risen Lord Jesus Christ and not by obeying the Law); and (who opened her heart so to allow her to believe what she was hearing) the Lord opened her heart to respond to the things spoken by Paul.

I can put it down in print.  I can pray over it.  With gladness and respect I fulfill that responsibility. But only the Holy Spirit can open your hearts to respond to what you are reading here today.
I pray the Lord Jesus Christ answer this prayer today.
