Home Bible Study

"Yes, I am coming quickly." Amen.
Revelation 22:20

This is a Home Bible study. It exists to promote the Word of God as it's written, which means nothing added or taken away, and minus opinions.

The Bible is the only source of Divine Truth in the world today. Although it is helpful and informative in many ways, the Bible might not tell us everything we want to know but the Bible does tell us everything we need to know.

My role is to guide you through the Scriptures; to explain what this book says and in some cases what it does not say because this is just as important.

Ultimately, you have a decision to make concerning your salvation - no one can make it for you. The Lord Jesus Christ, the Creator God, has given everyone the ability to make choices - this is is called "Free Will." I pray you consider your choice wisely.

II Timothy 2:15

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.

Home Bible Study Doctrinal Statement

Home Bible Study, Lutz, Florida
Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth
2 Timothy 2:15

I’m sensing the need to do something that I have not felt required to do in the past and this is to post a doctrinal statement.

The people who have been attending our Home Bible Study in this area know me and my beliefs.  But someone who discovers this Bible study on the internet for instance has no idea what we believe, and these are the people I’m thinking of.

This concern prompts me to write a doctrinal statement.  Afterwards I’ll post this data for all those folks who are interested in knowing more about our beliefs.

HBS Doctrinal Statement

We believe Jesus Christ, the son of God, was the creator of everything
[John 1:1, Colossians 1:16, Hebrews 1:2].

We believe that man is created in the image of God [Genesis 1:26]

Although the Bible does not specifically say why God created man and woman, we believe it was so that He could commune (have fellowship) with mankind.
[1 Corinthians 1:9]

We believe the human race began with Adam, perfect and sinless, but after his act of disobedience (not Eve’s), his single act precipitated the fall of the entire human race from this point onward [Romans 5:12, Romans 3:23].

The Bible is unique because it is God’s revelation recorded in human language.  The words of Scripture are “God breathed” or inspired.  God is the source or origin of what is recorded in Scripture.  [2 Timothy 3:16-17]

We believe God the Son became the incarnate God in the flesh by way of the virgin birth [Galatians 4:4, Matthew 1:23].

We believe God has provided the way back to fellowship with Himself through faith and faith alone in Jesus Christ’s sacrificial death, his burial of three days and three nights, and his resurrection in power and glory [I Corinthians 15:1-4].

We believe that every Believer of the Gospel of Grace is immediately baptized by the Holy Spirit into the body of Christ [I Corinthians 12:13, Ephesians 1:23].

We believe the true believer will live a life pleasing to God [Titus 2:1, 12, & 13, 3:1-2; Galatians 5:22 & 23].

We believe in the pre-tribulation out calling of the body of Christ [I Corinthians 15:51-54, I Thessalonians 4:13-17], followed by a seven-year tribulation [Daniel 9:27], and the second coming of Christ to set up the thousand year reign of Christ [Zechariah 14:1-9].

We believe the lost of all the ages will be resurrected and appear before the great white throne and then sent to their eternal doom [John 5:28 & 29, Revelation 20:11-15].
