Dividing the Word of Truth
(2
Timothy 2:15)
This is good and
acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who
desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 1Timothy 2:3-4
House Work
I
know I’ve suggested this before. But for
those who may have forgotten and for those who may be just visiting, it’s
always a good idea to review the previous Bible lessons. These lessons may be found in the archives
located at: HBSGroup.Blogspot.com
When
asked by his students, “What is the best method of learning?”
The
wise teacher said, “Repetition…and then more of this.”
Scripture
says God did not send Jesus to judge the inhabitants of the world but to
save them! The judgment of the world
will come at some future date. Keep this
in mind.
Communication of
the Remnant
(Part 1)
John
3
17: “For God
did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world
might be
(what) saved through Him.”
Let’s
compare Scripture with Scripture.
John 14
6: Jesus said to
him
(the Apostle Thomas), “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the
Father (God the Father) but through Me.”
No
need to dissect that Bible verse. It
says what it means and means what it says!
If
you want to be in a position of “right standing” with God the Father, you must believe that Jesus died for our sins
according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, and that He was raised from
the dead on the third day, also according to the Scriptures.
(1
COR 15:1-4)
In
our previous lesson, Scripture points to Jesus Christ as the Light of the world.
John 8
12: Then Jesus
again spoke to them (the
Pharisees) saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk
in darkness, but will have the Light of life.”
This
verse is teaching us that:
Jesus
Christ is “the Light” of the world
and not just for some people but for all.
Jesus
Christ dispels darkness, which
stands for evil.
Thus,
Jesus
Christ pierces the darkness of sin
and death conquering them.
Just
as darkness is the absence of light.
Evil is the absence of God.
Albert
Einstein
We
have a tendency to grade wrongful acts; don’t we?
We
like to compartmentalize and categorize these activities.
For
instance, murder is certainly more serious than robbing a 7-11.
Cheating
on a final exam is hardly worth mentioning when you compare it to internet
pornography, or cheating on your spouse, wouldn’t you say?
But
man needs to step back from being the judge of such conduct.
Because
of our “Adamic Nature” we are flawed creatures and this truth disqualifies us.
Genesis 6
5: Then the LORD
saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of
the thoughts of his
(what) heart was only (what’s the
next word) evil (how often) continually.
You
know what continually means, right? It
means every waking minute!
Job 24
13: “Others have
been with those who (do
what) rebel against the light;
They do not want to know its ways Nor abide in its paths.
And:
Isaiah 29
15: Woe to those
who deeply hide their plans from the LORD, And whose deeds are done in a dark
place, And they say, “Who sees us?” or “Who knows us?”
Scripture
answers the last two questions in the verse above.
Jeremiah 23
24: “Can a man hide
himself in hiding places So I do not see him?” declares the LORD. “Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?” declares
the LORD.
And:
Jeremiah 16
17: “For My eyes
are on all their ways; they are no hidden from My face, nor is their iniquity
concealed from eyes.
Men
and women surround themselves with a false sense of security if they actually
believe the Lord Jesus Christ is unaware of what’s going on in their lives.
The
same light that makes plants grow hardens clay.
The
light is the same, but the response is completely different.
John 3
19: “This is
the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the
darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.
20: “For
everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear
that his deeds will be exposed.
21: “But he
who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested
as having been wrought in God.”
As
I said previously, there are two camps in the “world,” Believers and
unbelievers.
There
isn’t a third. You can’t be a “fence
sitter” in the arena of faith.
The
largest camp by far is the unbelievers and Scripture reveals this Truth.
Matthew
7
13: “Enter through the narrow gate: for the gate is wide and the
way is broad that leads to (what) destruction,
and that are (what’s the next word folks) many who enter through it.
14: “For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to
life, and there are (how many) few who find it.”
I
call this the Communication of the
Remnant.
The
“majority” does not seek God or believe His word.
Only
the “few” do this; the Believers. This Truth runs throughout the Bible.
Read
the Biblical account of Noah and the Flood (Genesis 6; 7).
How
many people chose to believe the LORD and boarded the Ark of Safety?
You
see faith is always followed by ACTION!
How
many people chose to go their own way, even though the LORD left the door of
the Ark open and the ramp down for 7 days after the 8 people and all the
animals had boarded? What was the end result?
Clearly
a “few” people believed God and they were rewarded for their faith.
Clearly
the “majority” did not believe God and died in their unbelief!
This
pattern of faith and unbelief is repeated over and over again in the Bible.
But
throughout man’s history God has preserved a “remnant” unto Himself.
In
this example, the prophet Elijah is running for his life.
He
believed himself to be the last “son of Israel” left who believed in the LORD
God. He prayed for death, but the LORD
God comforted him instead (1 Kings 19:1-21).
And
in verse 19 the LORD God tells Elijah that he is not the last believing Jew…
1 Kings 19
18: “Yet I (the LORD GOD) will leave 7,000 (the remnant) in Israel all the knees that have not bowed
to Baal (an idol - fertility god worshipped by the Canaanites and
Phoenicians) and every mouth that has
not kissed him.”
At
this time in history, there were approximately 7, 000, 000 Jews living in
Israel.
Only
7,000 remained faithful to the LORD God.
What percentage is that?
I
think it’s 1/10th of 1%. Get the
picture?
I
teach this for a reason my friends. For
it is no different today.
The
Lord Jesus Christ still preserves a remnant unto Himself.
Honestly,
I can picture the scoffers and the naysayers already tuning me out.
And
I can already hear the comments, “Isn’t the majority of America Christian!”
Is
it? I’ve known for some time this isn’t
true. Of course, it depends on your
definition of the word “Christian.”
Recent
history tells me there are “few” FAITH followers in America today.
A
man I admire and look up to said to me, “There’s a fine line between Bible teaching
and preaching and every once in a while you’re going to cross over it.”
At
the risk of “crossing over,” I shall continue.
The
MAJORITY OF AMERICA JUST RE-ELECTED THE MOST PROABORTION PRESIDENT IN THE
HISTORY OF THE USA.
What
does the Lord Jesus Christ say about murder?
Romans 13
9: For this, “YOU
SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, YOU SHALL NOT (what) MURDER, YOU SHALL NOT STEAL, YOU SHALL NOT COVET…,”
Taking
the life of an unborn child at any stage is wrong. We must respond to all tragic circumstances
of pregnancy from the unshakeable foundation of two indisputable premises:
human life begins at conception, and it is always wrong to intentionally kill
an innocent human being. The unborn child’s right to life and liberty is
given by his or her Creator, not by his or her parents or by the state.
The right to life is inalienable: that is, not to be trespassed upon by another.
- Abortion
- The termination of a pregnancy.
- Dilatation and Extraction, D&X, (Partial Birth Abortion)
- The baby is delivered feet first. The head is left inside the birth canal. A sharp instrument is used to puncture the rear of the skull at the base and the brains are sucked out. Once dead, the baby is fully delivered.
- Dilatation & Curettage (D&C)
- Abortive procedure where the abortionist inserts a curved knife into the placenta and cuts the baby up into pieces before it is suctioned out. Done in the first trimester.
- Dilatation & Evacuation
- An abortive procedure where an abortionist inserts a pliers-like instrument into the uterus. The abortionist then grabs whatever part of the baby it comes in contact with. Then, by twisting and pulling, the baby is dismembered, killed, and pulled from the womb.
- Mifepristone or Mifeprex (RU-486)
- A pill taken after conception that stops the absorption of Progesterone, a hormone necessary for sustaining pregnancy. Taken with misoprostol, it causes the uterus to contract and eject the newly conceived baby.
- Partial Birth Abortion
- An abortive method where the entire baby is delivered except the head. With its body outside of the vaginal canal, the doctor then uses a sharp instrument to pierce the back of the skull of the baby and scramble the brains, killing it. Then the baby is fully delivered.
- Pregnancy Reduction
- An abortive method of reducing the number of babies in the womb (twins, triplets, etc.) by injecting a poison into the heart of one or more of the babies while still in the womb.
- Saline Amniocentesis
- An abortive method where a highly concentrated salt solution is injected into the placenta. The baby takes the salt into the lungs as well as swallowing it. After more than an hour, the baby dies and the mother delivers the body a day or two later.
We
haven’t hit bottom yet. In May of 2012
Congress rejected a
bill that would ban sex-selective abortions ("Gendercide: Sex-Selection in
America”. The final vote was 246-168
This
is a common practice is some other countries such as India and China.
But
the practice is becoming “trendy” in AMERICA at the expense of the unborn child
who winds up out back in a dumpster.
There’s
more:
THE
MAJORITY OF AMERICA JUST RE-ELCTED THE FIRST PRESIDENT WHO OPENLY SUPPORTS GAY
MARRIAGE AND WHO HAS GONE ON RECORD STATING THAT HE WILL NOT SUPPORT THE
DEFENSE OF MARRIAGE ACT (DOMA).
The Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) enacted
September 21, 1996, 1 U.S.C. § 7)
is a United States federal law that defines marriage as the
legal union of one man and one woman for federal and inter-state recognition
purposes in the United States. The law
passed both houses of Congress by large majorities and was
signed into law by President Bill
Clinton on September 21, 1996.
Under the law, no U.S. state
or political subdivision is
required to recognize a same-sex marriage from another state. Section 3 of DOMA codifies the non-recognition
of same-sex marriages for all
federal purposes, including insurance benefits for government employees, Social Security survivors'
benefits, immigration, and the filing of joint tax returns.
*Section 3 of DOMA has been found unconstitutional
in eight federal courts, including the First and Second Circuit
Court of Appeals, on issues including bankruptcy,
public employee benefits, estate taxes, and immigration. The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to
hear an appeal in one of those cases, United States v. Windsor, with oral
arguments expected in March 2013.
What
does the Lord Jesus Christ say about homosexuality?
1 Corinthians 6
9:
Do you not know that the wicked will not
inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be
deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor
male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders,
(NIV)
Jude
7: In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the
surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion.
They serve as an example of those who
suffer the punishment of eternal fire.
Why
is the Lord so OPENLY against homosexuality?
The
Bible has the answer and it involves the family
which was instituted by the Creator God.
Whatever God is for Satan is against.
The devil has been trying to destroy the institution of the family since
its establishment (see Adam and Eve in the Garden, Cain and Able, etc.).
Why? Well one reason is the Christ child who was
to be born of a virgin named Mary. A man
called Joseph would become his father (Matthew 2:18-25).
So,
is the majority of America Christian?
You
tell me?
Faith
is followed by ACTION.
Many
people may “believe” in God, but “few” believe in what God says!
And
my friends this makes all the difference in the world.
History
shows, and current events prove, America is following the gospel of the “majority,”
and that is “live and let live.”
In
other words, there is neither right or wrong.
Their
moral compass no longer points north.
So
what if Betsy wants to wed Mary Ellen?
So
what if Harold wants to marry his manager Alex?
This
doesn’t affect my household? This doesn’t
harm America.
Oh
but it does; in many ways politically, financially, and socially.
I’m
not going to leave the spiritual aspect out.
What does the LORD say about this?
Isaiah 5
20:
Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for
light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.
21: Woe to those who are wise in their own
eyes and clever in their own sight.
22: Woe to those who are heroes at
drinking wine and champions at mixing drinks,
23: who acquit the guilty for a bribe, but
deny justice to the innocent.
The
majority has always gotten it wrong when it comes to faith-related concerns.
I’d
be careful about following “the crowd.”
